Teresa Spinelli is a respected business leader, community builder, and passionate advocate for creating vibrant, connected communities. As President of the Italian Centre Shop, she has guided the family business through decades of growth and expansion, transforming it into a beloved destination with five locations across Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and Calgary while preserving the welcoming spirit and sense of belonging that have defined the company for more than 60 years.
Beyond her business accomplishments, Teresa is deeply committed to strengthening the communities she serves. Her leadership has helped shape numerous initiatives in Edmonton’s inner city, including her involvement with the McCauley Boys and Girls Club, the Avenue of Nations Business Revitalization Zone, and the Boyle Renaissance Advisory Committee. She has also championed revitalization projects such as the restoration of Giovanni Caboto Park in Edmonton’s Little Italy.
Recognized nationally and internationally for both her entrepreneurial success and community impact, Teresa has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs and a Global News Woman of Vision. Her many honours include the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for Alberta, and Italy’s prestigious Order of the Star of Italy.
